the container says the api is sm,and energy conserving.my car calls for sh or better.

there aren't that many companys that actually produce motor oil. chances are that it is made by a major manufacturer. as far as the api rating, sm is fine to use. it is the current rating approved for all gasoline automobile engines. sm is an older rating -they are constantly updated.

The lowest bidder, I suspect. It comes from one of the major refineries, but it wouldn't surprise me if it came from whoever Wal-Mart had negotiated the lowest price for the month. That hasn't stopped me from using it in my daily driver as it still passes the manufacturer's requirements.

Depends on location (if it looks like a exxon/mobil container) then it is most likely made by them (they do supply it in certain locations)... or warren

not sure but not a very good oil trust me im a mechanic if you can use valvoline max life it is about the best
