Davenport needs to retire. She's going nowhere fast. Look for an early exit from the US Open followed by a quick farewell. Not sure that anyone is going to miss her.

Always disappointing when a match is decided due to an injury. A bit of a "hollow" victory for Henin-Hardenne. Also a shame for Davenport as her career seems to have stalled and I have doubts she will bounce back to the player she once was.

Oh and no I'm not mad :)

I'm not mad that she retired from yesterday's match vs. Henin-Hardenne. I was disappointed however, you can't help injury unfortunately. You could clearly tell after the match yesterday that she was very upset that she had to retire. She's one of my all time favorite players. She apparently hurt herself in her semifinal win over Sam Stosur. So she wasn't 100% when she went on the court yesterday. I hope she's able to play the US Open, she's last match on Ashe Stadium tomorrow afternoon.

I have never liked Davenport's attitude on court, less when she acts like that

Get a life!

Davenport can quit if she wants.

It's disappointing that we weren't able to see more tennis, but it was very understandable. She has to save herself for the US Open, I think she was just shaking the rust off in this tournament, seeing where she stood. And she still hits the hell out of the ball, no matter how immobile she is. But man, she is slow. :P

Not Me. It is understandable..no player wants to quit earlier if they can help it..they know their limit...their condition...
