Well of course the egg came first. Fish were laying eggs millions of years before birds or reptiles existed. Now, if you mean "Which came first, the bird, or the bird egg?" then the answer might be different. :P

If you define a bird egg as being an egg that will hatch a bird, then the egg came first. A very bird-like reptile layed an egg that hatched a very reptile-like bird.

Now, if you define a bird egg as an egg layed by a bird, then the bird came first. A very bird-like reptile's egg would hatch into a very reptile-like bird, and then that bird would lay a bird egg.

The bird, there must have been a point when it changed from being a bird like reptile to a reptile like bird, and this could only have been after it had got out of the egg!

I hate this question!! It shows how little morals people have from their answers. We had a debate over it in Language Arts last year and it went on so long that my teacher finally made us stop. I agree that the Bible says God created the animals so probably the chicken came first.

The egg - dinosaurs laid eggs. Not exactly the answer you're looking for, of course... but the question does not specify which TYPE of egg. Besides, the question is not really meant to be answered...

Seriously, we have a chicken and egg question. and your answer is as good as anyone elses.
I would say the egg: it has more personality.
