that would depend on what kind the plant is. Is it an outside or inside plant. What happened for it to get in this shape?
If it is an outside plant and its a perennial then yes it will rejuvenate itself.
If its an inside plant and there are no known reason its unhealthy such as bugs or fungus, over watering, under watering etc then you might try re-potting it and hope for the best. sometimes this works but it really depends on whats wrong with it.

Remember some plants have cycles which their leaves turn brown and drop off and then grow back. If this is one of such plants, just keep on watering it as you was and it will come back. Or you can go to walmart in the garden department and look for a product miracle grow and use that around the roots.

Depending on the plant.Houseplants grow in cycles with a dormant stage in between vigorous growth stage.Theres not enough information in your question to provide a detailed answer but generally if the roots are white & full it will grow back.Remove the dead foliage to prevent rot & disease & re-pot if necessary. You can trim the roots if you want to re-use the pot & this will not harm the plant.Again we are talking about houseplants & this might not be the answer you seek.Provide more info next time to get better results.

It depends on the plant. A houseplant such as a purple passion can have great roots, but if the leaves all die off, it won't regrow the leaves.

If it's a Confederate rose, all you need is the roots to have it come back to life.

Absolutely, I've rescued many "dead" plants. Just make sure it's in the right sized pot, gets the food and water it needs and it may surprise you!

Many plants can do this, especially perennials and some shrubs. Give it some time and maybe a little extra water.
