silence...

silence, at the right time, when the sun is just beginning to set; and its rays are penetrating your body; and there is nothing to be heard, could be the most harmonious music one has ever heard...

can music do that?

Music and Silence.
In fact, music itself is made of sounds and silence. This dance between the two is harmony.

The music of silence can be as comforting as the silence in music.

Silence is the lack of frequency. It has one tone (nothingness), if you would. It could not be harmonized without having any frequencies. But music has notes and harmonic frequencies come into existence.

Perhaps the question could be asked as: what is more soothing, music or silence? In that case, it depends on person's mood, and is more subjective than objective. It is driven by choice.

It really depends on my mood, dreamer. Sometimes, music can be very harmonious to me, and at other times, I want total silence. I'm learning more and more over time, that silence really does have it's own beautiful harmony, if I will simply take the time to sit and listen and take note of it. :)

I think they both have an equal amount of harmony. They compliment each other.

Silence is what is always there---the silent, peaceful background to our noisy minds. The space between thoughts..........it's the harmony that few hear due to so much inner and outer noise.........

With music there is a beautiful rhythm and harmony and it is complimented by silence:
it's the space between the notes.......without silence n space there would be no harmony---just one long note.

It's the pauses and gaps that give us harmony.
