Seems everyone knows that a lower resting heart rate is better, but is there a minimum that it's be best not to go below (like zero isn't too good).

President Bush's cardiologist was quoted as saying that Bush's resting heart rate was about 48 and that indicated he was in good robust health - so I assume that generally lower is good (certainly below 60).

Oh, and I understand the argument is that a lower heart beat puts less strain of both the heart itself and the cardio-vascular system, enhancing longevity.
