Ok probably this is not ur computer, usually this is due to many programs that u have installed, try to go to the system setup and choose safe mode and u'll be in the desktop of ur computer an try to open a site and see if is faster. If is faster could mean that u have to many programs and u have to delete some.

There are a couple of options with this problem. First you could see what all is running on your computer(programs). To do this, go to start, run, and then type msconfig. Go to the startup tab and see if anything is checked. If so, click disable all at the bottom then ok, then restart your computer. The applications that are checked mean that they start up when you start your computer. There is no need for this. When you get your computer restarted go through that same process to make sure nothing is running, then try road runner. Second, if it is still slow, I would recommend a Spy check and a virus check. I recommend Deffender Pro. If you do not want to buy it, you can go an do a yahoo serch for "Free downloadable Spyware", and yes most of them are completely free, no spys themselves. It is a possiblity that you have spy's. Once you have deleted all spys, restart and try again. Last, if that still has not worked, do another serch for free Registry cleaners. Do a scan, but on the free downloads you only can get them to delete just a few, only the paid for version will delete everything. Well, that is it, I hope it helps.

It is very likely you have a computer which has not been cleaned up. I mean all the junk files and unneeded files and programmes.

You did not give much information but purchase extra memory. Your Internet connection may be slow also. Almost sounds like dial up

CCleaner will get rid of the junk but you should regularly clean out junk and defrag regularly.

A clean machine is more efficient

There are several things that can be done:
1. Add more memory
2. Add virtual memory
3. Close Unused Program
4. Disable Unused startups
5. Tweak Down the computer's appearance
6. Disable unused services
7. Clean the computer from virus, spyware, trashes, registry, etc and prevention from ever coming to the system.

1. Add more memory.
As simple as it sounds

2. Add virtual memory.
Go to Control Panel > System > Advanced > Setting (Performance) > Advanced > Change (Virtual Memory) > Increase the number, then click Set.

3. Close unused programs
- Clean the taskbar from unused program (firewall and antivirus program is NOT an unused program)
- Use Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del) to help you with closing other programs.

4. Disable unused startups
Disable through Start > Run... > Type "msconfig" (without quotes) > Click OK > Startup
tips: You can also disable these through regedit, although I don't reccomend it since you may destroy the system there.

5. Tweak down computer's appearance
- Go to Control Panel > System > Advanced > Setting (Performance) > Adjust for Best performance > OK
- Disable desktop backgrounds
- Clean the desktop from unused icons.

6. Disable Unused Service
Goto Start > Run... > Type "msconfig" (without quotes) > Click OK > Services
Also, Start > Run... > Type "services.msc" (without quotes) > Click OK

7. Clean computer from virus and spyware
Last but not least.
Use decent programs to help you clean your computer from:
- Virus
- Malwares (including spyware, adware, etc)
- Trashes (including cookies, temporaries)

It's not about memory, make a backup and reinstall your computer, it's always best option.
