It means that a cable channel purchased the rights from a network channel to play the show in rerun status. Actors love this because they still get paid even if the riginal show has been cancelled. They still get royalties from the reruns.

It basically means wider distribution. Like 24. It was sold into syndication last season and now is on like 5channels on my cheap *** cable. Like was said before, anybody who pays the syndicate can play reruns of the show anytime on thier station.

It usually means that no new shows are being produced by the network that orginiated the program. So, the shows that have been produced are sold to TV stations and other networks to be shown. Nick at Night-TVLAND etc
