i started out with a fender squire bullet, GREAT beginners guitar.. ive ripped up and down some ibanez guitars, those are great.. i myself have a jackson dinky.. quite the cute little name for a guitar as bad-a$$ as it is.. i originally wanted an ibanez, but the dinky has an inverterd headstock, and it looks cool as hell.. guitar plays awesome as well.. heres what id do if youre looking to buy a guitar.... if youre looking for a beginners guitar, look into the fender squire bullet.. and have whoever is receiving the guitar play their way to a better guitar when theyre ready

the best guitar out there is an Ibanez and while your at it get a 7 string

My dad has a Fender and it's awesome, works beautifully, looks cool, and sounds great.
