I don't think it's because of his religious beliefs, but how he acts on them. Spielberg was reportedly very embarrassed over Cruise's media antics (jumping up & down on an Oprah sofa or wagging his finger at Matt Lauer & flexing his ego in defense of his wacky Scientology beliefs didn't really help his public relations) & won't work with him anymore.
But you may have a point, come to think of it. What has Isaac Hayes been doing since he left "South Park?" What about the careers of John Travolta (okay, he was in "Ladder 49," but what else?) & Kirstie Alley?

He was not that good an actor to begin with. However, it's not his religion but rather his actions/harangues that caused him to be dropped.
Other actors who are scientologists includes Priscilla Presley, Lisa Marie Presley, Anne Archer, Juliette Lewis, Kelly Preston, John Travolta, Mimi Rogers, Karen Black, and Kirstie Alley.
Plus Nancy Cartwright (the voice of Bart Simpson), Jeff Pomerantz; people who "drifted through" include Jerry Seinfeld, Patrick Swayze, Brad Pitt.

It's more a result of his antics than his religious beliefs. I'm pretty sure most actors believe SOMETHING; but they don't go around jumping up and down on couches acting like a damned fool.

I don't think he is washed up at all. He's like any other actor some projects are just better received than others.
Just because people don't like him personally won't keep that many of them from watching his movies.
Most of Hollywood has beliefs that are outside of mainstream America.

No he's washed up as an actor because we are seeing what a psyco controlling A**h*()^ that he really is.
