yes, I live about five miles from town and take my bicycle to a bus stop and ride the bus from there except days when I need to haul home groceries.
Now, I buy things that I can stuff in boxes and save so i don't make extra trips to town. I even bought two extra gas cans so I could keep some handy and not have to worry about driving in on 1/4 tank just to get gas.
I don't go cruising anymore, used to love to do that at night just as the sun goes down, but now I still take the bicycle sometimes.
I'm thinking of looking for a diesel vehicle too. There is more and more biodiesel becoming available in town and just maybe I'll go with that.

I use my 200cc motorcyle as daily transport, unless the weather is bad,or I need to transport more than two people or large items. The bike does about 30km/l, as opposed to my cars 9km/l.

Petrol in the UK is nearly £1 a litre. I've stopped tooling it around as much as I used to.
