Ive been playing the sims for years and I recently had to reinstall the game. I've had about 8 babies between 4 different families and they are all girls. Has anyone else had this problem? Or is it just me?..I can't find anything online that answers my question..

For those not familiar with some of the genetics and baby glitches, scroll down on this first link to where there's a string of colorful 'bugs'

Here's one case where a whole neighborhood had nothing but the same sex babies. This happens because of glitches in the game and randomizing it as I have in my original message has restored randomness into my game, and improved behavior of genetics.

(additional note: if one uses custom sims with custom hair or eyes for example, all the babies will be born to the one sim family with dominance favoring the custom... which means all the girls will have exactly the same 'do' -so when using custom hair and such, one does have to randomize the first generation or two, and save the third generation created in CAS in order to override the genetic dominance of custom made 'genetics')

More general bugginess in the game. Some of these may not be true in all games (I haven't seen them all), and they are not 'rules' since may not behave the completely the way that is claimed here in all games. :)

The game engine sometimes get stuck in a rut when making babies! Sometimes people have one baby after another and the features, sex and genetics of all the babies is identical!

This is what you need to do. Go into CAS (the create a sim part of the game) get or create two parents using the dice thingie. To save time since you're just going to throw them away, just use the random male and female.THen breed them together in the CAS, and make a baby. Then make another baby, this will shuffle the game engine.

Then keep one baby and remove the other people. Now create a mate for that sim you saved from the throw away family. Grow it to adult in CAS and mate it to another CAS sim adult. You now have three sims made from randomizing the game engine.

Now throw them all way or keep them if you want. But go back to your game and play your fave families. Now when they have kids, they should have different genetics (particularly if you use different skin tones and very different face shapes) and if you haven't been having twins yet, this will also get it kick started. :)

It's like getting the game to start rolling the dice. It should work perfectly now.

Have fun simming!

Sometime on Day 3, the Sim will deliver her baby. The camera will bring your attention to your Sim when she is ready to have the baby. The game will pause and family members will gather to watch the baby enter the world. If you save the game before the baby is born, and you don't get the sex you want, you can restart the game and try again.
A screen will show up saying that a new family member (or two new babies) is on their way. The new baby will be in the Sim's arms. You need to choose a name for the baby. The name cannot be changed, so pick one you like!

Good Luck! Now the real fun of taking care of a baby and toddler will be coming soon

Some of these answers you're getting are repulsive...and plain stupid.

Anyway, when your sim has a baby, its gender is completely random. By dumb luck, you're getting all girls. You're not doing anything wrong, nor is the game messed up. Keep trying, eventually you'll get a boy.

Like the person above, I had all boys too. Only once did i have a girl, and it was when i had twins...the other of which was a boy:-)

Usually when I play and I want a certain gender I save my game right before the baby is born, if I don't get what I want, I exit to the neighborhood without saving, go back to the family having the baby and try again. This process randomizes the gender and genetics for me usually, I hope this helps

i've have girls and boys i don't remember which one but it's either the guy makes the moves and it's a girl or the girl makes all the moves and it's gonna be a girl. Try swiching to the guy when u make them do things and see if that will change it.
