The proper use of the verb "gustar" in the present tense is the third person singular and plural - either "gusta" or "gustan" in reference to a thing or activity in the sense of "liking." The literal construction in Spanish is "To me, it (or they) is(are) pleasing." The liked thing is the subject, and to whom it is pleasing is the indirect object.

If you use the verb gustar in reference to another person you making an inference of sexual attraction.

I would translate "me gusto como soy" as "I like myself as I am," or more literally, "I am pleasing to myself as I am." But the verb that I would use for this construction is caer, not gustar.

Similarly, I would say "Los gatos me gustan porque son adorables." "I like cats, because they are adorable." or more literally, "Cats are pleasing to me because they are adorable."

Your gender has nothing to do with how the verb gustar is conjugated. The gender of the speaker is irrelevant.
