When it comes to this issue, there are two clear camps. The side that supports Hizbullah and the side that suppots Isreal. But the way I see it, 10 years ago it was taboo to say anything anti-Israeli. But now people are speaking against Isreal everywhere. What do you think?

Alright,
I am kinda seeing answers from people from the pro-isreali side. Think about this. Over 1,000 Lebanese died (civilians). Something like 45 Isreali civilians died. Does this affect anybody's opinion on the matter?

I say Israel is a fault, and unlike a majority of the people here, I will back it up.
1. Hezbullah truly made the first move, driving a Humvee into Israel, killing and capturing soldiers. However, this was done without the governments support or knowledge. Right after the attack, the prime minister of Lebanon tried to smooth things over by contacting Israel and the U.S. to apologize and negotiate a cease fire. Israel ignored them and responded with a full scale invasion of Lebanon. I would say Israel is responsible for the conflict for refusing to negotiate. It would be like an American going into a Iranian airport, killing people then having Iran declare war on the U.S. for military action.
2. Israel started killing civillians long before Hezbullah started aiming rockets at civillian centers. They say the killing are justified because there were Hezbullah troops stationed in the towns they targeted, while intensive investigations from human rights watch groups maintain that there were no Hezbullah troops in the town during the time of bombing
(see http://hrw.org/english/docs/2006/08/22/lebano14061.htm) . Also, again Isralis try to justify there actions by dropping leaflets that announce the bombing and order everyone to evacuate. Anyone still around, they reasoned, must be a Hezbullah terrorist. You might compare this to hurricane Katrinia, where there was to little money and to little notice for the population to leave. Some towns couldn't even read the leaflets. Hezbullah started firing rockets into civillian centers after these attacks, as retribution.
I truly believe that the side at fault here is Israel, and I am ashamed that my countriy (America) supported them in this war. Of the +1000 civillians killed in Lebanon one third were children aged 0-14. Those figures are unexcusable. Most people here can't even spell Hezbullah, much less pay enough attention to the news to submit their opinions. Oh, by the way Hezbullah is not a terrorist group, it was made for purposes just like this, to combat israel after the 1982 invasion of Lebanon. And you can say that they are terrorist financed by Iran, but what is Israel? They are just terrorists financed by the U.S. trying to take land.

Hezbolla will attack civilians rather than face a standing army,Israel will kick butt against any arab army no matter what size, they have already proven it in the sixth day war,the arabs know it,the russians know it,the US know it,that is why the arab nations like IRAN supply the terrorists with weapons and fanatic civilians, they know israel would kick their butt if their army faced the israeli army one on one.Why is it that arabs start a brawl, get the snot kicked out of them, then start crying like little girls so the world will side with them. Before the israelis, the arabs were constantly fighting between themselves and did not have the jews around to blame,at least back then they had more cojones

After reading most of the answers posted it is apparent that those commenting no nothing of the history of Israel. Israel was carved out of Palestine and only became an independant state after "terrorists" forced the British to turn power over to Jewish leadership. Their tactics wern't much different from that of Hezbollah today and many of them went on to be the leaders of what our government now calls the outpost of democracy in the middle east. It is obvious that most of the commentators here don't know who David Ben Gurion is or what his role was before he became Prime Minister of Israel. We should also remember that all of the people pushed out of their homes and farms in what is now known as Israel lived there for hundreds of years before these "aliens" decided to make their home in what was previously their country.
Perhaps we should ask them for a definition of "terrorist".

no it doesnt affect my opinion. the lebanese had to take care of all the terrorists but didnt so now israel has to. as usual israel gets all the dirty work everyone hates them but is actually glad they dont put themselves in danger they just watch. hezbollah is a group of terrorists. they pretend to help poor towns by building hospitals and schools to get into the government and so they are supported. but they hide bombs and stuff like that in them. so whenever u hear israel bombed a school... yea they had a reason... the hezbollah is putting their own people in danger just to make israel look bad...hmmm something to think about perhaps.

Interesting that some Lebanese Christians mouthed that they wished that Israel had finished the job.

That's all I will say hopefully it will not cost anyone their lives. I won't even source the news article I heard it from.

I say Hezbollah is Labanese/Middle Eastern vigilantes, that can see through the mazes and see past thier subservient government. The term "terrorist" is very subjective. Please see:

Both Hezbollah and Israel/Israel supporters are terrorists. Innocent people are getting killed everyday because of these groups/governments.
