With our advanced medical knowledge, we can help those that would have died in times past, survive. But then they go on to procreate their defective genes, therebye weakening the stock of the human race. I think this is wrong, let the weak die and the strong survive to further the human race. Don't you agree?

A couple of reasons really. First off, I'm not going to compare you to a nazi... thats silly. The reason is, we in the healthcare field make money off everyone. If we only worked on the super healthly and strong, millions would lose their jobs. And, it helps to perfect skills to work on as many as possible. If you had a daughter that needed a very special heart operation because she was in an accident, and the tables "were" switched meaning that this particular operation had only been one other time. Which would be better, having the operation performed only once before because we only provide healthcare to the strong and healthy, or knowing that the operation has been performed thousands of times and is safe because we provide health care to everyone? Now what is silly, is the amount of money, taken from taxes, used to pay for non-sense medical cases such as the 10-20 times a week I have to see some one for a "spider bite" or "I think I stubbed my toe" or "I have a mild case of poison ivy". Thats the funny part, most of these people are medicaid and medicare patients, above age 50, and demand to waste a doctor and 1-2 nurse's time for around an hour. I just wish we could prescribe a drug called common sense, and everyone had to take it.

By weak and defective genes ,i suppose you mean someone like Stephen William Hawking the physicist on the wheel-chair?
I agree with you .Lets just keep all the football players and bodybuilders.They sure strengthen the stock of the human race.

Just because someone has a gene you consider "weak" does not mean it is passed to their progeny.
You can never predict the outcome of an individual during Meiosis, the mixing of genes into DNA strands during fertilization.
I'm sure you know among the human species Achondroplastic dwarfism is a dominate gene trait, as is hands with 6 fingers yet those populations are very small.

i would agree if my name was Adolf Hitler, but it not, so i don't, everyone has a right to live, we help others, because we are human, and show compassion to others.
i do understand what U are saying tho, in nature only the strongest animals survive, the weaker ones get eaten, then only the stronger animals genes go in to the future gene pool, making the species stronger as a whole

I have a genetic disorder and take offence to that quote as I'm not weak, I just have some tumours on my head.
I still got a brain and Can mess your head up with some of the magic that I do.
I'm happy even tho there are ignorant people like you out there.

I agree in principle, we do not want to weaken the stock of the human race, so those that are defective should be allowed to live a full life but should be prevented from breeding
