I just donated some money to breast cancer research and I got to wondering, how much more money do we need to find cures to save lives? These organizations must have millions and millions of dollars invested in research. The world's population is ever increasing and with natural resources decreasing by the minute, do you think someone's hiding something from us?

Thanks for your answers. I guess I should be clear and say that I'm not immediately concerned about over population, I was just thinking that maybe someone out there sees over population as an issue and the only way to take care of it is to hide cures from the general public.

Cancer is a generic term for abnormal cell growth that causes tumors. There are many types of breast cancer. Some grow slowly and some grow quickly. There are many ways to treat cancer. The treatment must be tailored for the individual and the type of cancer. It is very difficult.

Perhaps you think that researchers would withhold treatment for certain ethnic groups or whatever? Researchers generally like the notariety that comes with a significant breakthrough in treatment of a disease. Also you may consider that a researcher is highly educated and very underpaid. The motivation for doing that type of work is basically a humanitarian effort. That type of person generally does not engage in ethnic cleansing.

If you are concerned about overpopulation, there are many organizations that are concerned with birth control and space colonization.

Cancer, AIDS, diabetes, heart disease can all be cured by diet. Ayurvedic doctors in India cure these diseases and so do a few American doctors. Check out the McDougall diet for curing heart disease, as an example. To cure people is not lucrative. To have a chronic patient is. Most people buy the concept of 'incurable illness'. They will get mad at the idea that AIDS can be cured. It flies in the face of all that they believe is true.

Absolutely... I think that the government has cures to everything. They got a AIDS vaccine I heard but it will be YEARS before it is available to folks to use. To tell you the truth I think that the government created AIDS. But as far as the organizations that are asking for donations, I do hear that the whole experiment and process of finding a cure is very expensive. They have to pay for the scientists, the facilities, the equipment, etc.

I think so. They're sitting in Hangar 18 with the aliens and the little bitty pill you put in your gas tank to get 70 miles to the gallon.
