YES and no.

Brothels should be legal everywhere. Women have the right to choose if they want to work their bodies or not and it keeps them away from pimps and off the corners streets and in a "controlled" and safer enviroment.

Will it reduce rapes on women etc...NOPE... Once a pervert, always a pervert.

Brothels are a cure for rapes or violence against the weak hasn't worked for past millennia and never will, simply because brothels are not where women get raped, it is where women are forced to sell themselves for sustenance.

So that doesn't really help most men get over their need for approval, lack of self love and their own sense powerlessness over their low self esteems.

It is that sense of powerlessness they inflict over another human being, by overpowering them, so a weak person creates weaker person through rape or simply an act of overpowering or bullying.

This overpowering happens everywhere there is no cure offered to a low self esteem in our society, today our schools don’t teach a child to have a good self esteem or how to be your self, instead we are taught how to beat others through grades, sports, talents quests etc, so this sense of competitiveness last a life time, and in the end their lives end up being merely one power struggle after another.

They feel the more people they can beat up overcome or overpower shows how powerful they are, this might not be true at all, as empowered person gets his power by empowering others and above all from his own self.

Our power struggles take us far away from the life we could have live if only we followed our childhood vision of ourselves to be happy in whatever we do, and do only what makes us happy. Before we allow competitiveness to ruin it all forever.

People with low self image believe that by over powering another weak person they can they over come their own low self image, and that happens every where, at schools where bullies abound or at work places where garrulous bosses over power timid co-workers or a party, rape can happen anywhere, when the victim is really the aggressor as he is just creating another victim by passing on the wounds of his childhood or personal experiences when his self esteem was raped or destroyed by another weak soul.

Legal brothels could work, as long as the industry is regulated, and health safeguards are maintained. It could be taxed, as well. I don't think it would have any effect in reducing the occurance of rape.

it would not reduce rapes, but i really dont see the harm in legalized prostitution. in places where it is illegal the women are considered criminals and are more likely to be abused and used. even though they do get used where it is legal, they are more likely to be paid well and better taken care of. the main thing keeping it illegal is the social stigma and "morality" issues. from an economic standpoint it would be better for society if these women are adequately compensated and generated tax revenue. plus it could be regulated to help control venereal diseases and the crime often associated with illegal activities

Prostitution exploits women, so I would disagree with legalizing brothels worldwide. The number of rapes is not likely to go down, as rape is not really about sex--it's about power, control, and violence.

not only is this a ridiculous suggestion it undermines women everywhere. Are you a chauvinist? Have a little respect for people in general. Rape is involuntary and will scar a person for life. Where as Prostitution is the exploitation of rape for money. If you were the victim i bet you wouldn't be asking something so self-centered.

Whether you allow brothels to be legalised or not? They will be there.
It will never reduce rapists by raping a woman.
It is a dream of yours which will never come true.

No
If it is allowed it wouldn't reduce rape on women, because the people who commit this type of crime are sick in their mind. Besides that its not good for the society
