Right...I've been searching for a decent web camera for my Mac to use with Yahoo Messenger, Microsoft Messenger and/or iChat. I posted a similar question a while ago and made some progress with my search but have not found the ideal solution.

Any Mac OS X users out there that use something other than iSight for web-chats please help! Logitech seemed to be the way to go (at first) but they don't have much in the way for Macs.

Isight camera (Apple) is powerfull and integrated in recent macs; independant Isight are expensive and are no more selled on AppleStore.
A lot of cheaper webcams for PC are compatible with macintosh using a litte opensource driver for Quicktime called Macam (see link above). I've been using it for many years without any problems with a Philips ToUcam.
IOXperts also gives a full list of native and compatible cameras (link below).

I used a Logitech borrowed off my sister's PC with no problems. Haven't used it in a while, but if I remember correctly I don't think I even had to install anything....could be wrong, though. I don't have iSight on the computer I used it on (first-gen Mini).

If that's NEW, this is a computing gadget, meaning that's transportable!!! Soooo, Take it lower back to the shop the place you obtain it, and that they're going to restoration it for you. Sorry, yet we won't even start up that may assist you, in case you may not properly perceive your individual computing gadget.
