I think these books would be right up your alley. "The Flanders Panel" and "The Club Dumas" by Arturo Perez-Reverte have the same sort of mystery puzzle style as "The Da Vinci Code." If you like that aspect of it, you might also like Katherine Neville's works such as "The Eight" or Umberto Eco's works such as "The Name of the Rose." Reviewers have taken to saying that Neville, Eco, and Brown make a trio of good reading. If you like one of those authors, you will probably like the other two. Three other books you might like are "The Dante Club" and "The Poe Shadow" by Matthew Pearl and "The Rule of Four" by Ian Caldwell and Dustin Thomason. All of these books basically follow the same theme of a race to solve a puzzle by following scattered clues but these last three have an especially interesting historical theme to them and they are all very well written.

You might enjoy The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco, Angels and Demons by Dan Brown and some of Clive Cussler's adventure novels.

Why don't you look into the books by Elizabeth Peters (Guardian of the Horizon), Matthew Pearl (The Dante Club), and Umberto Eco (The Name of the Rose)? You can also find suggestions of similar titles whenever you go to your favorite books' websites or their listings on Amazon; your local librarian can also be a gold mine of suggestions.

Good luck!
