Go to your local auto parts store and buy one of the small handheld siphon pumps they only cost about 10.00 and are really easy to use...

The easiest way is to put a tube (like an old garden hose) about 5-8 feet long down inside the tank, and then suck on it till you taste a little gas, it'll keep coming out so have a container ready.

It's really gross and dangerous if you swallow any, so be careful.

My dad's a mechanic and used to do it all the time.

If the gas is nine years old...... that stuff is partly sludge by now.... I'd drop the tank, and go ahead and replace the filter and all while I'm there.... its just better to do so.

disconnect the fuel line up by the motor, attach a hose to that fuel line and put the hose into your container of choice.
turn the ignition key to the run position and let the fuel pump pump it out.

DONT, if you are trying to repair it drain it from the fuel tank.

if you are 9 years old -- dont do it -- if the gas is nine years lod,,, its no good anyway
