If you want to properly follow the guidelines of the manga style, then you can use tutorials to start off. Here are some links:

First, don't say SUCK at your drawings. Everyone begins with something they may think looks bad. Don't compare it to the book yet in the beginning. Work at your own pace and eventually you'll get better and better. You have to be positive towards your own work, or it'll be even harder to get good at. Look at what you want to improve (the face, arms, etc.) specifically. Get a book on how to draw manga or google it. Practice helps.

well, first this is how i learned to draw decent manga. you first borrow manga and copy them. i did this for a month. this way, you learn how to draw the eyes, face, clothing, etc.

after, borrow some manga handbooks and learn to draw your OC (original charater). add some touch-ups like color the hair, clothes, skin, eyes and shade. then, you got your OC finished!and you finished your first charater. in total of drawing one charater and perfecting it, it usually takes a month and a half.

try not to erase a lot. i figured every time i erase mistakes, i get more impatient and draw even worse.

Pick up a book called "Manga Mania" by Christopher Hart and keep practicing, you'll get it.
