I used to live in Orlando and went to Disney World often. It is a blast. The only down side is the wait in line. I will bet that is with any amusement park. Just watch yourself and your belongings. There are always those who prey on others for their support in places like that. You should have a great time. Epcot Center is a nice time for older kids and the adults, and the Magic Village is a hoot. Have fun! Nana

It is hard to find anything negative about Disney World. As a vacation it has just about the best of everything.
Don't miss the water parks or pleasure island.
Only a couple pieces of advice.
Stay in Disney World. You will maximize your time in the parks and enjoy your vacation much more. It costs a little more but it is worth it.
Park hopper tickets are normally a better value if you are staying several days and frankly, you won't want to miss Universal studios or Sea World, especially if you have kids.
Take advantage of any fast pass offers you can use if you are going at a busy time of the year.
Slowest week at Disney World...first week of December. If you can go then...you will avoid most all crowds. (of course, a few rides may not be operating at that time...so there are pitfalls)

The only thing that causes bad experiences at Disney World, unfortunately, are the people. Crowds and high humidity can put a damper in your day. But to avoid this, I recommend traveling between the months of late Septebmer - mid November and February to early May.

Epcott is very boring for children if you have any. If you are planning on going to Disney World Park daily, avoid doing the same attractions (parades, shows, ect) more than once. Video tape them and watch them at home if you want to see them again :)

We went to epcot in the 80s, when I was a kid, and loved it. Returning a couple years ago, I thought it was a waste. Computers aren't all that futuristic any more. I'd recommend staying with DW, and Universal.

Oh wow, don't go on any twirly rides after you've eaten. I went on like ten after a meal and I alllllmost threw up. :D
And there was this one time where I tripped when I went up to take a picture with Mickey Mouse and everyone laughed. :(

I sorta got separated from my family members in the crowd-- made the best of it though, and went on the Pop-eye ride...GOOD TIMES!
They found me a half hour later soaking wet with a massive smile on my face,
have fun!
