I lost my favorite NIN shirt, I swear I loaned it to a friend to wear and he never returned it. And swears he doesn't have it.

I've lost pretty much EVERYTHING materialistic of mine at some point or another... it can hurt... the things that hurt the most were all of my children’s yearly Christmas ornaments and my Journals, as I plan to be a writer... I have made several mistakes in my life, like moving away and leaving my stuff to be stored and looked after by college friends… and I went to college late in life, so I had a lifetime of collections, over 20 pair of boots, a closet of clothes that was a fantastic “playground” for ANY actress (I was majoring in theatre), my 13 page thesis on legalization, pictures, (the ornaments), awards, brand new home furnishings because I had just started my life over… but I can tell you for all that I lost, the non material things hurt the most to lose… my husband committed suicide that year and I was very ill that year and lost my kids for awhile… as far as the material things, I still know how to appreciate what I have, but I know to never become too attached to anything, even people to an extent….

I left my entire CD collection at the library. While I was digging in my backpack for a 3.5 floppy (back in the dark ages when people used them), I took out the CD folder and set it by the computer.
Later, because of the way they schedule computers, I had to move with about three minutes notice, which is exactly how long those things took to save. The CD's got left in the shuffle. An hour later, when the term paper was finished, they were gone.

When I was in high school I had just gotten a bunch of cds and I took them to school. After school our AFJROTC Unarmed drill team was practicing and I went to the restroom and left my backpack on the drill pad where I assumed they would stay. When I came back they had gone inside and LEFT my backpack outside. When I went to look for it, it had been stolen from our drill pad. I was so mad! I also lost a box of fundraising candy. Total value was about $200

I left my Ann Klein pea coat at a motel in Flagstaff, and they said I didn't, you have no idea how much I loved that coat.. and by the way.. it should read "a material possession"...
