You can try going to Start/Administrative options/Event viewer to see exactly what the error is.... It should tell you. If it just started, (with 2-3 days) you might want to try rebooting to safe mode and try system restore to an earlier time (pick a recent day).

Sounds like you may have a corrputed file. I would try system restore first and see if that doesn't solve it. It should work if it hasn't been too long that the problem started.

Have you tried the following:
Go to the control panel
Open add/remove programs
Click on Internet explorer
Click on repair
restart computer when it says to restart.

If this does not work then I would got directly to microsoft.com and do a search for internet explorer to get the lastest version and download it. If you have done both of these and still are having issue then you need to either run or install anitspyware programs. If you do not have any the two best are Spy Bot Search and Destory and Webroot Spysweeper. The first one is free at cnet the other costs a little bit but is well worth it.

Try to RESTORE it from the Recycle Bin first. Then open it.

But if that document exists under the same name, then rename that other one, before restoring it.

First, try to go back to a previous restore point. You can find that under Control Panel, in the upper left area (if you have XP).

If that doesn't work, try running virus scanners. You can get them for free, just google it.
That's what I would do!

Go online & find a program called CCleaner. Install it on your desktop & run it. It checks for errors on your disks, which is what your problem sounds like. When you run CCLeaner, run both the "Cleaner" and "Issues." Good luck - I hope this helps!

PS: you should also run a disk cleanup & defragment, both found in your System Tools.
