my wife takes .25 mg Xanax. I take 1mg Klonopin. What are the differences in these when compared to each other

The main difference between the drugs is the half-life. Klonopin has a longer life and lasts longer in your blood stream than Xanax, so when it comes out of your system it does so more gently and some docs believe that's why Klonopin is more tolerable and less addictive. Xanax loses its effect quicker and causes a bit more of a shock for some people, creating the illusion you NEED it.

A downfall I know of Klonopin, is that it stops working after being on it for awhile and people keep requiring higher doses, which isn't good.

i take klonopin and ive taken xanax. i think xanax is better for chronic freak outs but it creates an almost instant dependancy because it takes effect immediately but then crashes out quickly too. however, klonopin seems like it never really "kicks in" soon enough for me when im freaking out. i take a low dose at night to help me relax and not be scared to sleep in my house alone. but the side effects of both are pretty crazy so unless you NEED either you shouldnt take them. i tried to stop taking my klonopin three different times. i would get really sick, throw up, headaches, etc. i read that stopping suddenly could also cause seizures.
