The GLBT community can be a very caddy group. Especially men. Just be yourself, dont talk until you know what the topic is. And if you continue to feel uncomfortable, maybe those boys or that group arnt people you ought to be talking to anyways. Being bisexual, alot of gays dont consider you part of their little group. While thats totally not true, thats just the way it is. It would be the same if you where a gay man at a straight bar. You will get used to it soon. If its a new thing to u to be in the GLBT community, it just takes time before everyone will know u and love u. Good luck.

Be yourself. You can talk about anything that you would normally talk about. Being Bi is a big part of my life, but that doesn't mean that I'm fully submerged in the GLBT community.

*sigh*
Why, oh why, do people seem to feel that they have to discuss some big agenda? I realize that the lgbt community has many different and pressing issues. I understand that we are constantly having to justify ourselves to the rest of society....but can't we just talk about the weather? Or politics? Or our favorite flavor of Ben and Jerry's? You're bisexual, but you're a lot more than that! Why can't you talk about the same freakin' things that you would talk to your straight friends about?
*sighs again*
I just don't understand why people make it such a production to TALK to another person. It's not really hard. Introduce yourself. Say it's nice to meet you. Talk about the weather, a book or movie...or maybe even just listen to what they have to say.

Just talk about what you like. I think you'll notice that most people in the GLBT community are just normal people like you who can talk about almost anything!

there's no one way you have to "act." just be yourself. there are no rules. do you know many gays/bi/lesbians? are you old enough to go to the bars? any support groups in your area? for me, when I started out on the internet, I found talking to people in chat rooms was a good start opening up and learning about my "community." coming to these Yahoo answers forums can be informative, too. of course, there are the bashers that come here to give us grief...just ignore them. for example "redkitty63"'s rude answer above. a lame inpersonater of me, by the way. used to use my exact same name.

I have the sneaky feeling that "redkitty" and "redcatt" MAY BE the same person, either that or just schizophrenic.
Regarding LGBT, most of us still haven't figured out what to talk about to eachother, so just choose your topic!

Maybe for a while you have to listen more than you talk. But you can talk about almost anything except football, ok?

Talk about what interests you - same as you would to anyone.
Precisely because it is a "big group", all interests/topics are open for discussion.

When you don't know what to say, ask someone about themselves..they will think you are a brilliant conversationalist.
