...from Yahoo?
Ya know, I've read some pretty rotten crap on here...about racism, abuse, ethnic slurs, fetishes, religious intolerance, etc.
But I asked a straight-up question (and said that it was for adults only!) about the difference b/n having sex vs making love...& I got a "violation" e-mail! LOL!
Have you ever gotten a "violation" notice? If so, what for?

WOW! Glad I'm not alone. :-)
What fantastic answers...!!
I thought it was pretty ridiculous, considering some of the content of the questions/answers I see on here...
But some of you asked/answered such innocent stuff! EEEK!
Guess it was just my turn for Big Brother Yahoo to come down on me for something...
I think I'll ask the same question again, just to see what happens! :-) :-)

NOT ENOUGH, FOR SURE! =p I actually feel terrible about it. A lot of my friends get violations for no reason at all. I have gotten a few, but I asked a question about prostitution and no one complained. Nor should they, but if my friend Sharky had asked it, he would have gotten a violation notification.

The thing about Yahoo! Answers is that it wasn't designed by geniuses, and so anything is a violation if you try hard enough.

It's all about people being subjective. What I mean is you can politely tell someone that you just don't agree with them, and they will report you.

Then someone else could fill their answer with bad words, if they're saying something everyone agrees with, no one would report them.

It's like the Witch Craze. People accuse you for mere spite, and there's just no way you can prove your innocence.

Ouch. I would call that a good question.

The bit about "For Adults Only" probably brought in all the teenagers and children, and The Ednas, and the moral upright folks, who would have ordinarly buzzed past your question without a glance.

I know when I see a "For 13-15 year olds only", or "For Men Only," I just have to stick my long nose in to see what is so exclusive, and very often I answer :)

Hugs to you sweetie. I would not have reported you for that, and am outraged that someone did....Glare.

Edit--Heaven help me but I have not received one yet...but now that I said that, I expect I 'll get one daily.

I got a violation for answering "What?" to an unanswerable, ridiculous physics question. I'm fighting it now, as we speak. I mean, I didn't use profanity or obscenities, like so many people do. I merely said "What?".

I haven't gotten a violation from yahoo, yet. They once removed one of my questions. The question was "where do you live?" They removed it saying it was an intent to chat.

Quite a few, and always for "Chatting" or "Not a Q or an A". I am astonished that I have never been suspended.
