First, you have to find the least common multiple of each number.
LCM of 10 = 2 * 5
LCM of 15 = 3 * 5
Let's rewrite it so you can see it better:
2 * 5
------
3 * 5
The "fives" cancel one another, leaving 2/3.
Got it?

to put *any* fraction into it's simplest form, you need to find a number that both the top and the bottom of the fraction can be divided by. 10 and 15 can both be divided by 5, see?
5X2 = 10
5x3 = 15
That's how you get
2 over 3
Now: using that process can you do 8/12?
sometimes it's easiest to make a list of all the numbers
8 is divisible by
1,2,4 and 8
12 is divisible by
1,2,3,4,6, and 12
Look for the numbers in the two lists that are common. (1 won't help you cuz you'll get back the same #)
Use the *largest* number that both lists have in common.
what times that numbe gives you 8? That's the top.
what times that number gives you 12? That's the bottom.
Did you get 2/3? Good, you'll pass your test!

10/15 reduces to 2/3. The greatest common factor is 5 so 5 x 2 = 10 and 5 x 3 = 15. Therefore it's 2/3. Get it?

What numbers go into both 10 and 15? 5 is the only one, I believe. 10/5=2, and 15/5=3. Therefore, the answer is 2/3.

10/15 can be reduced to 2/3 because the numerator and denominator are both divisible by 5 so 10 divided by 5 is 2 and 15 divided by 5 is 3. I hope his helps.

Divide both numbers with the biggest common number that could fit. The only number is 5 so:
10 divided by 5 is 2
15 divided by 5 is 3
Therefore the answer is 2/3
Good luck.
