Depends how good you are. It's all about the ability to tell a story, I think that's where many people fall down in that career. To much concentration on the technical side without knowing how to form a decent storyline.

Very difficult these days. Better if you work in a very high end studio, like those in California. Unfortunately, most studios don't pay very well because of the competition for jobs. Also, much of the work is being outsourced to other countries where the labor is cheaper. Personally, I would go to law school.

California for sure.
But you have to be extremely talented, have inside connections, and be willing to be used and abused the first few years. So it's not easy to get into at all, but it can be very rewarding.
