my cd rom is working it reads and everything but it got uninstalled and i dont how to install it because i dont have the disk. how can i find out what brand and model my cd rom is and what site can i go to to download it?

just restart the system it should recognize it again becuse it is a dummy hardware, if the uninstall thing happened again ,that is probably because of a bad CD that you tried to run on your drive,but it away !!

turn the computer off then unhook the cd rom player cords. then turn it on with it unhooked. then turn it off and hook it back up. it will say new hardwhere found do you want to install yes yes and follow then instrution when they prompt you.

well you don't need driver for cdrom most of the time. what windows are you runing? If you cdrom is not in my computer I would think your cdrom is bad or bad cable. See if the cable is on tite.
