We are worth the amount of love we allow through us, we are as good as our capability to love, our capability to allow love and life to take over us, and lead us to our destiny, something the mind can never even fathom.

As Schmurki points out, it is not your word but your actions that count. Yes, it is important that you do what you say you are going to do. But someone who makes no promises but does what is right may be even more commendable because they are not seeking glory. Politicians promise many things, brag about those things they have delivered, conveniently forget all those promises that were broken. We need to strive to fulfill the promises we have made, but there are times when we cannot do so, in which case we can honorably apologize and do the best we can. This doesn't make us bad, only human. Everything in life is not under our control, only our own actions.

Actions are indeed important as they follow up on one's word.

Ultimately, reputation is all one truly owns, and at the time of one's demise, determines whether one's reputation was good or bad.

A person not of their word can neither be trusted nor relied upon.
