How to make a house wooden roof(only wooden structures)?

Since i came in Europe i found on residential houses same
from outside?I want to know only the wooden struture of the roof How it is made?How carpentures nail these structures to erect in heavy strom or wind?

Simple to understand the Frame of roof which sits on the walls?How Is this possible to stand against strong winds?

the roof joists are tied to the exterior walls with hurricane (metal) clips.
