Spray early on a cool morning with a wasp and hornet spray that you can get in any yard & garden store -- these cans can spray a long stream that lets you stand back from the nest. However, be aware this is a nerve poison --it kills bugs on contact but is toxic, so wear rubber gloves when you remove the empty nest and dead wasps (which you should do to avoid having kids and pets get into them). Used properly it is safe, and I've done this lots of times and never been stung.

Why on a cool morning? Because insects are cold-blooded, and wasps do not forage at night. In the early AM the whole colony will be on the nest and the cold makes them slow and stiff, so they won't come buzzing after you. If you spray during the day, you will miss the ones that are out foraging and they will attack upon return. BTW, all wasps, hornets, and yellowjackets die off in the fall, the nests do NOT winter over. So if the nest is not in a place where irt causes hazards to humans or pets, just leave it and let nature take its course (unless you live in a very warm climate with no winter.)

Get a spray (the one that Raid makes works miracles) and creep up on it and spray like heck. Then run run run away very fast. And then come back 10 mintues later. If you need to, spray it again but is should be fine. Then knock the nest off whatever with something long and wooden. The wasps might just curl up and stay on the nest andnot move - they're dead like that. get rid of the nest outside or in a dumpstr\er.

you may purchase wasp and hornet killer which shoots a circulation of insecticide approximately 20 ft--be very careful and stand properly faraway from the nest once you shoot those issues at them. There might in elementary terms be ONE now, yet whilst the nest is increasing, there are extra--and wasps can sting extra beneficial than as quickly as.

Believe it or not, pure ammonia in a spray bottle will drive them away from the nest.I tried it and it works.Be sure to get the nest soaking wet.You may have to run fast and then come back and spray again but eventually they will be gone.If it's a big nest I would call an exterminator as they are dangerous.Good luck.

If possible, fill it with a solvent like kerosene or turpentine (no, don't set it on fire please). If you can't do that, try spraying it with insecticide. Do this at night when the wasps are dormant. If the nest is very large or hard to reach, I'd recommend hiring a professional exterminator.

wasp spray is very cheap, but if you don't have time to go get a can or have one on hand..I have heard that WD-40 also works.

Naturally, you would want to spray from a distance of several feet just like you would do with wasp spray.

A paper nest: posin spary
A under ground nest: flame. i would try about a cup of gasoline then you take a propane tourch not a plumber's torch mind you a 3 to 4 foot long torch that plugs into a classic barbeque propane tank. lite torch and fry the nest.

whatever you do, wait until night. they are all in the nest because they cannot fly in the moist night air. 1 they cannot fly around and sting you. 2 you will get them all and not leave some to rebuild their nest. some of the best advice i ever got from my grandpa.
