I have been debating this in my head for awhile. the shark has sharper teeth, i believe. but the croc has thicker skin. it also has a stronger bite strength as well. I think. I would still bet on the shark though. the teeth would compensate for any disadvantages.

add in a killer whale, too. if the whale was the same size it would be stronger than both.

great whites can't swim into swamps. only bull sharks can live that close to freshwater. now if it was near mangroves that are still in the ocean, it might still be salty enough.

Nobody has mentioned the difference in their bite. Sharks do not have very powerful jaws for their size, and rely on the razor sharpness of their teeth to cut flesh and bone.

Crocs have rounded teeth, but an enormous bite strength - they tear and crush flesh and bones.

Also, the white sharks method of attack would be from a distance. They would never do face to face. I think the shark would win because of this - it's detection system is much better, and it could come in unseen and take a bite, and go.

As big as "Salties" are, they need to be able to clamp on to something, like the limbs of an animal drinking at the water's edge. They need to apply the vice hold until the animal is dead. That would be difficult on a large shark, whereas the shark's bite is sharp enough to come in, take a bite and swim away.

Great white wins.

Not sure about the Killer Whale - he's got brains.

When in a common habitat such as the sea close to land, the great white would have an advantage as they are fishes. Crocodiles can't hold their breath for more than an hour or so. They have to go to the surface once in a while to breathe. Sharks have gills which help them take in oxygen from the water. But when in a land- water environment crocs have a better chance.

Let me tell you, any animal the same weight or less as a great white shark is dead meat. A baby killer whale as 2,000 pounds one on one with a 2,000 pound shark? A 2,000 pound crocodile has a much better chance, but any animal in the world you can think of the same weight as the shark the shark wins. Pound for pound the toughest animal in the ocean. It's design, perfected over millions of years, it's teeth and attack habits and senses, all shark.

Depends on the environment. In a swampy area, the crocodile would probably win because the shark wouldn't be used to getting itself tangled up in the kind of plants and mud you find in a swamp. Out in the ocean I'd bet on the shark due to its superior speed and maneuverability.

Hmm.. the croc would win. It can be on land and water and it has jaws of steel. If you were to add in the whale .. I think it'd win over the other two easily because it could just ram them repeatedly.

Croc has more mobility. My money is on the croc. But, then you add the killer whale in there? I guess the whale trumps the croc.
