The banana is the most extensively cultivated tropical fruit in the world. The plants fruit just once, and then should be removed to allow the suckers room to mature and supply next years crop. Plants begin to bear in less than a year’s time.

An agave. It's the spiky desert plant that grows for various number of years (depending on the species) produces a flowering stalk and then dies. This is also the plant that tequila is made from so I guess you could call the stalk a "fruit".

I don't know, but would love to know the answer. I had a huge flaxy cactus that only flowered once in it's lifetime. Huge spears of red blooms........

banana plant after it does it dries out and die, but sometimes and is rare you can save it and you might get another bash of bananas
