the only ones who say marijuana isn't addictive are the ones who are PSYCHOLOGICALLY addicted to it themselves. sure it's not physically addictive like heroin or alcohol, but some people REALLY do get a psychological addiction which causes them the need to go find it everyday, and to use it to make things seem fun. And it may not be an addiction to THC itself, just an addiction to the escape, or the need of alteration, i know many who are addicted to marijuana, but since it isn't physically addictive and only mildly psychologically addictive, they can have a couple days of alcohol binge instead. why wont people learn? OFCOURSE however, i think marijuana should be legal over alcohol, it's just stupid it isn't the other way around, alcohol is MANY times more destructive, and marijuana has legitemate medical uses, i'm just saying, when it gets to the point where you're freaking out because you can't find a quarter bag, blowing everyone else off until you find it THATS AN ADDICTION...

I have only smoked marijuana a couple of times and I say it is not physically addictive. You seem to understand the difference though and I use the qualifier physically every time. I say that marijuana is as addicting as anything else you like to do. You want to do it, so you seek out a way to do it. For instance, I know a guy that really likes to water-ski, he will blow everyone else off to water-ski, is he addicted to water-sking?

Also, anything you are addicted to is hard to quit. I have known a couple of people that would qualify as stoners and smoked quite a bit. After 3 or 4 years for one of them and close to 10 years for the other they just quit one day and haven't smoked since. They have no reason to lie to me as I obviously don't care and you can tell in the way they act and aren't late for everything anymore. So unless they took acting classes and randomly decided to start hiding their smoking from everyone and cut back on smoking then they don't smoke any more. So I don't consider it an addiction and I am not a stoner myself.

We'll if you want to get the most insane feeling of your life some it out of a bong. It's a lot smoother so you won't cough as much and the feeling is crazy compared to a joint or pipe. When you do it make sure you are with some friends, got some good munchies, got some netflix, and a comfortable spot and it's literally the best thing in the world. I earn you when you do it you will feel really weird like out of this world. You feel tall and when I was watching a movie you basically laugh at everything. Me and my friend always get the same feeling. When we are watching a movie we both thought for sure we have saw that movie before and we thought we new what was going to happen next but the next day I watched it again and it was totally different. When your high it feels so much more fun. If your not panicking ( trust me don't i did the first time and freaked out) it's the best thing in the world.

The same reason an alcoholic refuses to accept the fact that they have a drinking problem. It is not physically addictive, I quit after more than 25 years of almost daily use and had no withdraw symptoms that were physical in nature. I have seen friends and family members go through hell trying to lose an addiction to much harder drugs, which did have physically devastating withdraw symptoms. If you are strong willed, you can beat a non physically addictive habit. It is much harder to tackle quitting when you face physical consequences. This is probably why I still smoke cigarettes.

The main reason why is because they do smoke it all of the time. Their bodies and minds have become so acclimated to the action of smoking it, it's hard to say if it's habitual due to a chemical dependency or just the repetitive conditioning through the act itself. If you did the same thing at 4:20 every afternoon for a long time, it would become commonplace. Try then to quit it outright... at 4:20 the next afternoon you'd be a basket case. Nonetheless, it is an addiction.

so what ...theres just as many people addicted to caffein, cigarettes, soda, and over the counter headache and pain relievers ... they need to legalize marijuana for more than one reason ... it is one of the most useful plants there are in existance for industry ... and THATS the real reason it is illegal ... it would replace almost every product made from oil or trees including paper.

I think they mean it's not addictive compared to smoking tobacco cigarettes. Then again maybe they're just in denial.

Because they are addicts in denial. The first thing they're gonna say is " I don't have a problem".
