If you get a good Lawyer,50% of everything. If you got your inheritance before you married,Mr. Wonderful, And can prove it, you might get that. Anything that was earned or gotten during the marriage is concerted both parties... But the idea is,at lest you're done with the Mooch!

you cannot ask this question to people all over because since you are in illinois, you have to follow illinois law, you need to contact an attorney, find all the legal guidelines to follow concerning any loopholes which may allow this obviously golddiggin, lazy , loser who is using you as an ATM machine on his own behalf,, also search into any unauthorized purchases this person may have made w/ this money or any purchases in general, as such they may also be your asset exclusively seeing if this person bought them frauduantly... good luck cut off any supply of money to this person any lines of credit, and any source of income, so this person will have no choice but to get a job, and if they dont kick them out if it is your home or leave if it is theirs. do not get divorced , let the legal departments take care of all that,,, GET THE BEST LAWYER YOUR MONEY CAN AFFORD AND DO IT SOON IF YOU ARE SERIOUS, or you may never see much of your INHERITANCE ,, this person sounds like scum from what you say,,, scum is like a bad cancer,, if you dont get rid of it quickly it will eat you alive from the inside out.

He'd get alimony from you. And half of everything that was accumulated while you were married regardless of who paid for it. I know that's not what you wanted to hear but that's the law in most states.....except Texas.

Your situation is no different than what a million men have to deal with when their wife makes much less money or is a stay home wife. It's fustrating!!! Welcome to our world....how do you like it so far?

In some states, an inheritance is not considered community property, thus he would get nothing from that, seek legal advice! It sounds like you have nothing more than a lazy gold digger! Are there children involved, I would absolutely seek legal advice, then you will know where you stand!

I think that he may be able to get half (I hope for you that he doesn't) but if you think about it, he is currently getting ALL. Get rid of him. Sounds like he is dragging you down. I would get a good lawyer and fight him on getting anything, and by the way how can he get a lawyer to defend himself, because if he don't have a job that means he doesn't have money and lawyers don't work for free. LOL

Talk to an attorney, just leave him, you don't have to divorce him! Start a new life else where, sell your house what ever. Tell him you all are going to live minimistically and take him off all your accounts. Begin creating trusts for you and your heirs talk to an
attorney ASAP! Good luck!
