I left my umbrella at my workplace. I didn't have my name on it as who puts their name on their umbrella?? I didnt realize it till I got home late and the store was already closed. I go in the next day and find out the umbrella was sold to someone (we have a rack of umbrellas for sale not far from where I left mine on the table. Of course it didn't have a tag on it but in retail it is common to scan a similiar item to get a price ringup. I really need my umbrella because I have to walk to work and the busstop so if it is raining, I can't go to work. Everyone is too busy to do anything about it. Is there a way to be remembursed for my employer selling my property. I have the cover to the umbrella so they know they sold it as it is a unique print . I know it sounds like a dumb question but it is 25 dollar umbrella and I need it or my money.

I think that you should explain the situation to your employer and see if that helps. However, the excuse you used about not being able to go to work is a little sorry (you can buy another umbrella for like 5 bucks at Wal-mart!) But definitely try and get your umbrella back. If you dont address the situation this time, they will continue to steal your things. Give it a try, but next time buy a cheap umbrella that you wont mind losing.....they all work the same way!

Talk to your boss about it. Have your boss check the security tapes (just to show you did bring it into the store and someone bought it). Bring in the cover of the umbrella to one show that you did have it and second to help point out the umbrella on video. If that doesn't work you can try to have the store (which it sounds like a retail store) buy one for you, or at least get the money that they made off of it and give it to you (since the store didn't buy the umbrella to sell {hopefully you understand this last part in the retail world view of it} )

Hope this helps you....if not let us know and we can come up with something else!!!

It was not inventoried, it was not a sale item, if someone leaves their bike at the store can you go sell it on ebay the next day? NO, it wasn't even owned by the store in the first place. dont be a pushover, demand from the manager that your stolen goods be returned or that you are refunded monetarily. there is no room to be a pushover in this situation. They will not be too busy if you are stern as you should be in this situation, dont keep bringing it up softly, make a large point of it, or if they ignore you, simply let them know you'll be reinbursing yourself with a high end umbrella from the store, they should have no problem with that, considering they already made money off of yours.
