My 15 year old is in the same shoes as you. My initial reaction was "absolutely not". However, unlike many parents, I really do remember what it was like to be 15, so we compromised. She can get her belly-button pierced when she is 16, as long as she pays for it and I do not EVER want to hear one peep about how it hurts. Any jewelry she wears has to be able to not be seen under her clothing when her tummy is covered. If anyone makes remarks about how trashy it looks, I don't want to hear about that either. She can always take the jewelry out and pretend it never happened and chalk it up to experience.
I am making her wait to seriously think it over. It is ultimately her body, her decision and it is NOT permanently disfiguring - unlike a tatoo. She WILL be required to get it done, if she still decides to do it, at a place that is clean, does those on a regular basis, etc. None of that having the friends do it thing, or in some sleezy tatoo/piercing parlor.
Whatever you do, don't have a hissy fit over it or you will hear mental doors slamming in your parent's minds. Once that happens, you are cooked. Be reasonable, be respectful of their opinions (or they won't respect yours) and do not whine.

My dear, if only I could go back and listen to good ole parents right now!! You know, she is just looking out for your well=being. She is thinking that maybe later down the road u will regret this event! See when you ask a parent that type of question, usually going to get a no! They tend to think ahead, and don't want you to come back and say, " Gosh MOM, what were YOU thinking!! Hang in there 18 just aruond the bend, then you can blame yourownself, if you happen to regret this...Good LUCK!
