Elvis. The Beatles were the great impersonators. The original boy band. Check out any video from any Beatles performance before they broke up and you'll see screaming 13 and 14 year old girls, and nothing else. The boyfriends of these girls had to pretend to like the Beatles in order to get any kind of romantic action and, guys being guys, have never been able to admit that Obla di Obla da, or We All Lived in a Yellow Submarine, or I Wanna Hold Your Hand, or Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds or any other song they did was nonsensical. So now you have an entire generation of guys who have lost any sense of musical appreciation and still cling to the McCartney/Lennon/Harrison/Starr nightmare.

Elvis ruled long before the Beatles....however, the Beatles were heavily influenced by such bands as Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly and Chuck Berry.
But They both ruled.

I live in Elvis country...Memphis! Only a few miles from Graceland. I would say that Elvis rules. People come from all over the world to pay tribute to a man who died a few months after I was born. He is just as influential as the Beatles. The visitors that come to Memphis for Elvis week prove that year after year as they flock to honor his memory!
