Canada is a beautiful country, and it does have the emmenities you are looking for. It has a point system to regulate immigration, but they also have free land in some areas.

I want to move to Canada in the future, I love it every time I go there. My family actually applied there a few years ago and it worked on a points system - my dad is a Paediatrist / Chiropodist, but we were a couple of points short because there were too many people in healthcare! I remember manual workers actually having more points than doctors...

Anyway, I digress. This was a few years ago, things might have changed. If I were you, I'd go... good luck with the future!

I'm Canadian, so I am biased. I think you need to look into what areas of canada are in need of your partner's skills, rural areas? urban? Also keep in mind that some areas of Canada experience very cold winters that some people have a hard time acclimatising to. I would visit some websites about canada, and if you have the means, go for a visit in the winter time to see if you like it.

If another republican gets elected here in the USA, I am moving to Canada.

Go for it, it will be better than what you are living in.
