My niece who is about 13 wants to become pro. What should she do? Are there any tournaments she can enter into. Should she get an agent or coach. Please help.

She should be at one of the Academies like Img in Florida. That will give her the best chance. If she is not a top ten player nationally she will not get any financial aid which can be quite a burden. There is nothing that compares to these environments however. They put one or two players on the tour each year. At the very least she will end up with a free ride to a good division one school. i notice on this board there are a ton of people who are looking to turn pro. It is just not that easy. if she performs well at Natteys, she will get noticed by agents.

what she should do is get a pro at a tennis club to give her some privates for 3 hours or so. that is what i do. then when ever she has time go and use a ball machine so that way she can practice her strokes. when she is in high school she should try out for the tennis team. if she makes the tennis team all years in high school and is really good the varsity coach could probably introduce her to a college tennis coach. but she has to be really good. colleges look for people who can play doubles really well so she should practice doubles for a while. sho should still practice singles however because you never know what she will play in high school.

well try to get her private tennis lessons with a really good tennis coach. make sure she watches professional matches so that she can sort of copy their moves and get better. Enter her in individual matches (separate from her team). When she turns 16, try to become a qualifier in the US Open.

Although the asker didn't specify a pro at "what," we can see that the category is TENNIS, and alert members might notice that! :)
