If you have to ask then you probably should not know in the first place. Explosives / fireworks (especially the 'homemade' type), can be quite dangerous. The first step in keeping the activity safe is that you know what your are doing, and by this, I mean knowing the science behind it. Apparently, you do not.
It is people who don't know what they are doing, the people who do not practice all the safety needed are the ones who blow themselves up. By this I don't necessarily mean killing themselves in a giant atomic blast, but rather, blowing fingers/hands off, destroying property, and a like....these people give others a bad name, they force additional government restrictions on products used to make these explosive items, they make life harder for legitimate people in general.

When I was a kid, I used to mix potassium nitrate, ground charcoal, and sulfur, but getting the right proportions was critical. Potassium clorate mixed with sugar always gave good results. For a fuse, I used a string soaked in potassium nitrate or a special fuse called Jetex, I think it was called.
Nowadays, you might have trouble getting the ingredients due to terrorist concerns.

Don't. Here's my rationale:
If you're asking HOW to make homemade fireworks, then you got no business trying to make them. You're obviously an amateur that is going to end up in the hospital (and that's the best scenario).
I'm an experienced Ph.D. Chemist and I wouldn't be so foolish as to attempt that.
