Actually, it sounds as though someone is trying to beat down the door or knock a hole through the wall whilst playing the bagpipes and practising on a jackhammer.
Hmmm. Do ya think I need a new washer?

I have a GE front loader and I realized that the only time it makes a lot of noise is when it is on high spin and I have overloaded it. Maybe you are just putting too much in at one time. Or try to put on a slower spin cycle, if you can.

No. Two things could be wrong. If it does it now and then, it's because of an uneven weight issue in the machine with the cloths. If it happens all the time, the machine is not balanced right. Level it off and you should be ok.
