I'm going to be divorced, and have no malice toward my ex. I have come to like my full married name, and it has a much better ring to it than my maiden name. We have two children. I think I would feel a little weird having a different last name from my children as a single mother. I guess it's because I don't want people (including other kids) to think I had them out of wedlock, or to speculate about exactly why our names are different. I'm a little old fashioned, I guess.

Not only is it common to not change your name back if you have children with your married name, some women who have become known in business by their married name also keep it.
But matching your childrens name is a very valid reason.

Keep your married name is you choice and no one Else. It will make it easier in the long to have the same last name as you children. Of course if you get married you again will have to decide if you want to change your name. There is no law that you have to take your husbands last name. Most us do it.

Yes i think you should keep your married name. Having children is the best reason to keep your name after a divorce.

Completely valid, and also very common. Lots of moms keep their married names for the kids sake.

It will only get changed back if you request it. Most judges like for you to keep the same last name as your children. It saves the confusion.

Good luck.

I kept my ex husbands name for the same reason. It also saved a lot of confusion at work and getting your social security number, and driver's license adjusted.

I kept my married last name. And it will stay that way until I marry again. Most people do.

Keep your married name for the sake of the children.
It could tend to get confusing otherwise.

No, I think that is fine. I would keep the same last name as my kids. It would be easier.
