I would have to go with George Carlin, i mean he has done stand-up, turned his stand-up into best selling albums and DVD's and has done countless HBO specials on TV and has also acted in movies, he best was Kevin Smith's "Jersey Girl", and he has written 3 (and hopefully more) best selling books. How about that Howard Stern. Plus George was "shock" before "shock" was cool.

I'd have to say Oprah Winfrey, she's got more star power than Hugh Heffner. Stern is a shock jock who is already fading, but he did serve a good purpose.
