My first thought was things like the net and home pc and cells and then I thought of all the medical things that have saved lives and changed and improved lives. While not really inventions some are like heart stents and operations. I do not think we have come far enough in cancer research though . Medicine has advanced so much in the last 20-30 yrs so many are living that would have died. We have so much equipment that makes handicapped peoples lives so much easier too. Now if we can only do something to make it affordable to everyone, we would have a miracle.

Well first off, the most important would be the microwave. I use it for at least one or two of my meals per day! Secondly, the color television. Everyone relies on it to get all of the local weather, news, entertainment, and a whole lot more! The third most important invention would be the cell phones. Almost everyone has one and is using it everyday.

It would take an entire book to list just the most important ones.

Lifesaving medical practices. Just the Cesarean for pregnant women with birth problems has saved 15% of women giving birth. Three weeks ago, my daughter had a Cesarean and is well aware 100 years ago she and the baby would have died. And, that is true for 15% of all women giving birth.

Yes, polio vaccine. Lots of other vaccines as well. Birth control pills. X-ray machines; MRI.

Radio; TV; satellite communications; calculators and computers; Internet.

Atomic bombs and nuclear generators.

In a word, the TRANSISTOR!!!! Following that the integrated circuit.
Without it there wouldn't be computers (PC), no Internet, no cell phones, no iPods, no digital cameras, no camcorders, no video games, no Moon landing, no Mars exploration; a lot of the advances in medicine (DNA) transportation (GPS) military (F22) would be next to impossible. The list of things that wouldn't be just goes on and on....
And it goes all back to Galileo starting science in the 17th Century.

so far as IMPORTANT inventions go, the internet is definitely big, so is television. as for beneficial, the only one in the last hundred years that I can think of is .....
....ok, I can't think of one.
