Kathy New riders often feel it is the saddle, and not their seat, when they first start to ride. Your butt and legs get out of shape just walking around. It tales a period of time but, the sore legs and backside goes away after a few rides. Soft seats, padded covers, and big spring so not solve the problem. Only more riding does. My advice, put on the old seat. Make sure that it is at the proper height, and that it is flat, to a slight tilt down at the nose. The saddle should be high enough that whole sitting, your legs are almost straight (just slightly bent) when the pedals are in the 6 o'clock position. The saddle itself should be flat to a very slight tilt down at the nose. Soccerrref
