The work rock is really very huge.You gotta specify what in rock you would prefer listening too.for eg
Punk Rock ,Funk rock ,Alternative rock ,Glam rock ,Grunge ,Pop rock ,Psychedelic rock ,Rap-rock (a.k.a. rapcore) ,Soft rock .
I had started listeninin to Grunge and Punk first .Then gradually I moved and started listenin to heavier stuff.I suggest u to do the same rather than directly exposing urself to heavier stuff.
For eg Now Try out Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Green day, Alice in chains ets
