Sorry for the tag line It's really the ony way to get attention to your questions and get serious reply's..... It works.
I am not a snob I do volunteer work and have some friends that are not educated but find that I must keep the conversation on there level or they have nothing to add.
It's amazing how some of these people can walk through life and fall in sh_it and come out smelling like a rose.
Ignorance is bliss!

It does sound a bit arrogant asking a question that way....but I must admit that there are "dumber" people than me...and one of them is my mother-in-law....one example: two days prior to a scheduled trash pick- up, I told her in a conversation that the bulky trash pick-up was changed to a different date (once a month). She understood..or so it seemed. A few days later I placed everything bulky out next to the mail box.....all of a sudden on the date of the pick-up she comes knocking at the door and said, " Oh ,...I'm so sorry....I didn't know that those things were put out there for pick-up- they just passed by the house...." Imagine, she pulled them behind our SUV and placed the regular trash in its place- instead of pulling the big cart- which I also wanted to get rid of and everything else was inside of it- right behind it....
I was so mad. My husband gave her a ride to go somewhere right after that incident ....he then called me from the car and said that his Mom was so sorry....and that she was almost crying. This wasn't the first time she pulled a dumb one on me....which is why I explained to her carefully the change of the bulky trash pick-up...., because she even asked questions. Communicating with her is very frustrating indeed. She is only in her sixties. The worst part is that she thinks she knows everything better...and then when she is wrong...she acts so innocent and vulnerable. Clever strategy. Maybe she isn't that dumb after all !!!???

I don't always think that education has a lot to do with it. My sister in law is very, very intelligent and has a good education, but she's into People Magazine and other like things. I'm just not into that so we have a tough time having a conversation.

I feel your pain. One of my best friends is on the dim side. She never knows what anyone is talking about, and nobody knows what she's talking about...ever. One time in school, my friend William was trying to ask her for a piece of gum, so he said, "Hey, Gabby!" She didn't answer. Then he said it again, "Gabby!" Still no answer. So then, he's like, "Yo, Stupid!" She turns around and says, "What, what? Is someone calling me?" I laughed so hard I almost fell out of my seat. I'm not lying, it was hilarious.

Sometimes. Because I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings by correcting them all the time. So, I just cut the conversation short.

No, I don't. I used to have limited education myself. But now, of course, just like yours, it's unlimited.
